Bob’s practice focuses on criminal and DUI/DWI defense. He joined Hoff Curtis in 1993 and since then has defended some of the more infamous murder cases in the state. He has special expertise in defending clients charged with violent crimes such as assaults, sexual assaults and murder.

Bob is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Vermont Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Chittenden County Bar Association and the Vermont Bar Association.

Bob received his B.A. degree in political science from the University of Vermont in 1983 and his J.D, cum laude, from Vermont Law School in 1988. At Vermont Law School, Bob was Research Editor of the Vermont Law Review. After graduation, Bob prosecuted criminal cases for the State of Vermont in his capacity as Appellate Attorney for the Vermont State's Attorneys and Sheriffs Association. In 1989, he moved into private practice in Barre, Vermont, as an associate for Martin & Paolini, P.C. While the practice was general in nature, Bob concentrated his practice on criminal appeals, representing indigent defendants pursuant to a contract with the State of Vermont. Over the next four years, Bob appeared dozens of times before the Vermont Supreme Court.

Outside the office, Bob enjoys playing competitive ultimate frisbee.
